KIEV, Feb. 24 – A draft national budget of Ukraine for 2010 should be urgently sent for consideration to Parliament, and it should foresee the realization of unpopular measures to restore economy growth, according to Mykola Derkach, the head of the parliamentary budget committee (Lytvyn Bloc).
"The government and Parliament face a difficult task: to elaborate and approve a realistic national budget for 2010 through the concentration of restricted budget funds on the most important areas, which will lead to a cut in some budget expenses and taking other unpopular measures. This will also help lay the foundations for the reform of various activities and promoting economic recovery and growth," he said in an article published in the Holos Ukrayiny newspaper.
