KIEV, Feb. 19 – The continual postponing of increases in administratively regulated prices, in spite of Ukraine's obligations under its program with the International Monetary Fund, has led to a decrease in housing and utilities services tariffs to a level lower than is economically grounded, experts from the National Bank of Ukraine said.
"The contribution of administrative prices to the growth of the consumer prices index in 2009 was only 2.2 percentage points. Such a situation could provoke a rapid growth of prices for housing and utilities services in the future," the NBU said.
