KIEV, Feb. 16 - Housing commissioning in Ukraine in 2009 shrank by 39%, to 6.4 million square meters, according to the State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, the individual developers' share of housing commissioning was 35.7%, while in 2008 it was 55.6%. Housing commissioning by individual developers fell by 2.5 times compared to 2008.
A total of 5.164 million square meters were commissioned in towns and cities, or 80.7% of the total amount of commissioned houses, which was 32.4% less year-over-year. Housing commissioning in rural areas fell by 56.7% year-over-year.
