KIEV, Feb. 5 – President Viktor Yushchenko has brought into effect a decision by the National Security and Defense Council on measures to raise the effectiveness of state management in the sphere of geological research and the use of mineral resources.

The National Security and Defense Council in its decision of February 3 said that the work of the Cabinet of Ministers in this sphere was unsatisfactory; moreover, the system of state management in the sphere of geological research and the use of mineral resources didn't correspond to the interests of national security.
