KIEV, Jan. 28 – The Ukrainian national budget in 2009 saw a UAH 19.866 billion deficit, which is 37% less than the target (UAH 31.563 billion), according to the Finance Ministry.

The ministry says that in January-December 2009 the consolidated budget (national and local budgets) posted a UAH 21.606.9 billion deficit.

The Finance Ministry said that in January-December UAH 31.305 billion was sent to pay the state debt, including UAH 30.552 billion from the general fund. UAH 17.925 billion was paid for domestic debt and UAH 13.38 billion for foreign debt, including UAH 12.627 billion from the general fund.
