KIEV, Jan. 30 – Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn says that the recent growth in prices of some types of food has nothing to do with economic factors and are connected with the political situation in the country.
"I'm announcing with all responsibility that there are no reasons and prerequisites, including economic ones, for the worsening of the price situation, and the growth of prices of some foodstuffs has no grounds," he said.
He also said that Ukraine is seeing a slowdown in inflation, the level of food security has been recognized as high, and last year's bumper crop has ensured sufficient food supplies.
