KIEV, Jan. 18 – The introduction of an automated mobile phone registration system has brought UAH 400 million to the national budget by cutting down smuggling, the Ukrainian State Radiofrequency Spectrum Center said.

"After the introduction of the system, legal imports of mobile phones grew to 4.5 million. Taking into account the forecasts of the sector analysts, in 2009 it was expected that the same number of phones would be sold," reads a press release of the center issued last week.
