KIEV, Jan. 15 - Gas extraction in Ukraine in 2009 grew by 0.8% (or by 165.6 million cubic meters), to 21.182 billion cubic meters, while natural gas extraction rose by 1.3% (by 250.4 million cubic metes), to 20.238 billion cubic meters, the Fuel and Energy Ministry reported.

The enterprises of national JSC Naftogaz Ukrayiny over the period increased gas extraction by 0.7% (or by 135.5 million cubic meters), to 19.345 billion cubic meters, and natural gas extraction went up by 1.4% (or 258.7 million cubic meters), to 18.617 billion cubic meters.
