KIEV, Jan. 14 - Skhidny Mining, Ukraine's and Europe's biggest uranium miner, cut uranium ore production 4.7% in 2009 to 1.042 million tons, Fant Di, spokesman for the Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministry, told Interfax.
This was still 4% above target for the year. "Skhidny Mining raised uranium concentrate production slightly, meeting its target entirely," the spokesman said, adding that concentrate production was due to increase in 2010.
