KIEV, Jan. 12 - Electricity generation by EnergoAtom fell by a preliminary 7.7% or 6.963 billion kWh in 2009, to 83.155 billion kWh, EnergoAtom announced.

Last year the electricity generation target was over-fulfilled by 1.1%.

Zaporizhia nuclear plant in 2009 cut electricity generation by 0.2%, to 41.271 billion kWh, while Khmelnytsky NPP increased generation by 6%, to 12.78 billion kWh. Rivne cut electricity generation by 28.8%, to 12.214 billion kWh, and Yuzhnoukrainsk, taking into account Tashlyk hydro power plant and Oleksandrivka hydro power plant, cut electricity generation by 13.6%, to 16.888 billion kWh.
