KIEV, Dec. 25 – The share of bad credit in portfolios of Ukrainian banks in December will pick up to 9.5-9.7% from 8.8% seen in November, according to Dmytro Borodai, an analyst of the Phoenix Capital Investment Company.
"Some banks are interested to assess their bad credits in 2009 to post positive profitability in 2010. So, we expect the further rise in the share of bad credits in December to 9.5-9.7%. This will be the key factor of loss growth in the banking system, which will exceed UAH 30 billion," the company reported, referring to the expert.
