KIEV, Nov. 24 – Due to a lack of proper coordination the government and the National Bank of Ukraine are sometimes taking fiscal and monetary measures which influence the economy in opposing ways, Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper.
"A serious problem in anti-crisis policy, when there is a lack of coordination, is that negative consequences in the macroeconomic sphere, which are often accepted by the government as a temporary price to achieve other priorities and therefore should not be tackled, cause the NBU to act in a way to correct the macroeconomic consequences of the government's policy," the minister said.
