BRUSSELS, Nov. 18 – Ukraine welcomes Russia's intention to participate in the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transit system, Deputy Prime Minister Hryhoriy Nemyria said in Brussels on Wednesday.

Nemyria noted Russia's "negative reaction" to the conference on modernizing Ukraine's gas transit system held in Brussels in March 2009.
