KIEV, Oct. 27 – The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine said it is against attempts by the International Monetary Fund and other international financial establishments to use the process of granting long-term crediting of Ukraine to break down the current national system of social protections for the population.
"The unions do not object to financial support for Ukraine's economy. But the analysis of conditions that accompany the crediting testifies that the IMF is interfering directly in the internal social policy of Ukraine and is trying to weaken social protections, decreasing the level of social guarantees," the statement says.
