KIEV, Oct. 23 – A revival of merger and acquisition deals started in Ukraine in September and a surge is expected in 2010, according to participants of a conference held in Kiev by Baker Tilly Ukraine together with the Wolf Theiss law firm and Mergermarket company.
"The dog days of the M&A market finished from September 2009. Key deals worth up to $5 million in autumn were signed by small and medium companies. Farming and media companies were of great interest. The further recovery of the market depends on the improvement of the economic situation and a fall in political risks in the country," said the head of the M&A and legal analysis department at Baker Tilly Ukraine, Iryna Chernova.
