KIEV, Oct. 23 – The deficit of Ukraine's balance of payment in January-September reached $12.196 billion, while year-over-year a surplus of $6.255 billion was seen, according to a report by the National Bank of Ukraine.

The report says that the deficit of the country's balance of payment in September shrank to $1.347 billion from $2.618 billion in August (in September 2008 a surplus of $26 million was registered).
