KIEV, Oct. 20 – President Viktor Yushchenko says he is currently more optimistic about the economic situation in Ukraine than had been expected at the beginning of the year.

"The current situation is more optimistic than expected in February," the president said in Kiev on Tuesday at the ninth plenary sitting of the consultative council for foreign investments in Ukraine.

He said that almost all of the flows of goods and services were balanced over nine months in Ukraine.
