MOSCOW, Oct. 12 - Ukraine is in a position to meet its contractual commitments on paying for Russian natural gas and the country needs to reform its gas industry but its current politics make this impossible, according to the CEO of Russia’s Gazprom.

Gazprom would be able to promptly react to any possible departure by Ukraine from its payment commitments but Ukraine can and must meet these commitments Alexei Miller said in the "Vesti v Subbotu [News on Saturday]" program on Russian television.
