KIEV, Oct. 6 – The merger of the telecommunications assets of Norway's Telenor and Russia's Alfa Group – CJSC Kyivstar GSM and OJSC VimpelCom - will have only a slight impact on the Ukrainian telecommunications market in the short term, according to market players polled by Interfax-Ukraine.

"In the near future, the current situation on the [mobile communications] market will not change significantly: there will be three key players, as there are now. This is a confirmation of forecasts," Astelit CEO Tansu Yegen told Interfax-Ukraine.
