ALGERIA, Oct. 1 - Naftogaz Ukrayiny has submitted its application to bid for hydrocarbon properties in Algeria, Algerian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Chakib Khelil said at a press conference on Thursday.

Naftogaz must pass the qualification round, which requires that it demonstrate it has experience working abroad and has the resources to successfully develop the field, he said.

Companies from Vietnam, China, Thailand, Russia and the U.S. currently have operations in Algeria, he said.
