KIEV, Oct. 1 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny, in order to pay for natural gas to Russia's Gazprom in July and August, sold to Oschadbank some of the state domestic loan bonds put in the statutory capital of the state holding by the government with repurchase obligations (repo deals).
According to materials from Naftogaz Ukrayiny and the cabinet published with a proposal on the restructuring of Naftogaz's eurobonds worth $500 million, the first $600 million repo deal was signed on Aug. 5, and the bonds are to be bought back on Nov. 3, 2009.
