KIEV, Sept. 30 – Ukraine's gross domestic product fell by 17.8% in Q2 compared to the second quarter of 2008, the State Statistics Committee reported.

The deflator index was 7.8%.

In mid August the committee, according to tentative data, estimated that Ukraine's economy shrank by 18% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year.

As reported, Ukraine's GDP in the first quarter of 2009 fell by 20.3% year-on-year.
