KIEV, Sept. 29 – The diagnostic phase for 144 medium- and small-sized Ukrainian banks in groups three and four has shown that there are 31 undercapitalized banks, and of these, the shareholders of 26 banks have committed to increasing their capital to the required level by the end of December 2009, reads a survey of the World Bank.
"The [the National Bank of Ukraine] is in process of developing a resolution strategy for the remaining five undercapitalized banks. In one of these banks the NBU has introduced provisional administration," reads the survey.
