KIEV, Sept. 17 – The privatization of the Odessa Port-Side Plant threatens the economic security of Ukraine, according to President Viktor Yushchenko, who on Thursday suspended a cabinet resolution on the sale of the plant in 2009.

"[The president] suspends cabinet resolution No. 1517 of December 3, 2008 on the approval of a list of economic entities and holding companies, in which state stakes are to be sold... regarding the sale of a state stake in Odessa Port-Side Plant in 2009," reads a president's decree No. 747 of Sept. 17, 2009, which has been posted on the Web site of the head of state.
