KIEV, Aug. 25 – Arcelor Mittal Kryviy Rih’s refusal to prolong a contract on supply of ferroalloy signed with Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant has landed the steel mill in court, the company reported.
The report says that the decision to refuse prolonging the contract was made due to crisis and a fall in steel consumption in the world.
"All international steel mills, including Arcelor Mittal Kryviy Rih, operate in line with demand on the market and cut production. A fall in production at the mill was the reason to cut supplies of ferroalloy to the mill. One of the steps to adapt the mill to the crisis situation and handle it with fewer losses was a refusal of the mill's administration to prolong a contract on supply of ferroalloy," reads the release.
