KIEV, Aug. 20 – The Foreign Ministry has advised Ukrainian citizens to refrain from visiting Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as traveling to Georgia via the Adler and Nizhny Zaramag checkpoints on the Georgia-Russian border as Georgia adopted the law on occupied territories, which bans entry to these territories for citizens of foreign countries and persons without citizenship.
Clause 6 of this law foresees that the following types of activities shall be prohibited on the occupied territories - any economic activity (entrepreneurial or non entrepreneurial), international air traffic, maritime traffic and railway traffic, international automobile transportation of cargo, the use of national resources, the organization of cash transfer, as well as the financing or any type of support of activities, apart from cases determined by the law.
