KIEV, Aug. 17 - Ukraine reduced electricity output 15.3%, to 97.476 billion kilowatt-hours in January-July compared to the same period of 2008, the Fuel and Energy Ministry announed.
Ukraine's nuclear power plants (NPP) reduced electricity output 11.8% to 47.499 billion kWh in the seven months, thermal power plants (TPP) and combined heat and power plants (CHP) reduced output 21.4% to 38.401 billion kWh. Communal CHPs and block stations reduced output 17% to 4.144 billion kWh. Production at hydroelectric power plants (HPP) grew 1% to 7.431 billion kWh in the period.
