KIEV, Aug. 12 - Rent rates denominated in U.S. dollars for trade premises of 100-300 square meters in trade and entertainment centers and trade center have fallen by 30-40% since the autumn of 2008, the Ukrainian representative office of Colliers International consulting company (Kiev) reported.
"The worsening of the economic situation, the fall in the real income of public and a cut in consumption have led to a fall in the commodity turnover of retail operators and to a fall in demand for trade premises, which is reflected the pace of fall in rent rates: since autumn 2008, basic rent rates in U.S. dollars for premises of 100-300 square meters in trade centers in Kiev have slid by 30-40%," reads the report.
