KIEV, July 27 – The government will launch the construction of new grain elevators funded by Canadian and Japanese investors by the end of this year.
The new elevators will be transferred to agricultural cooperatives, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said in an interview with the ICTV channel, which was broadcast on Sunday night.
"We have signed with Canada and Japan all the documents necessary for the construction of elevators in Ukraine capable of storing 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 tons of grain. These elevators will then be transferred to the ownership of agricultural cooperatives, so that farmers will be the owners of these elevators. We will start
implementing this program by the end of this year," the premier said.
