KIEV, July 13 – Budget funds for the state target program on preparations for the Euro 2012 European Championship are being spent on facilities and programs that have nothing to do with the championship, the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper reported, referring to informed sources.
The sources said that the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sports Affairs of Ukraine has no documents to explain spending these funds on the construction of facilities that had not earlier been included in the Euro 2012 program. In particular, there is no explanation for the construction of the National Olympic center for the preparation of team sportsmen, the center for sports medicine and anti-doping center on the territory of a private firm in the village of Horenychi, Kiev region. A total of UAH 448.2 billion are planned for the construction of this center against last year's UAH 36.8 million.
