KIEV, July 3 – Germany's Dyckerhoff AG Group, which includes OJSC Yugcement (Olshanske, Mykolaiv region) and OJSC Volyn-Cement (Zdolbuniv, Rivne region), plans in 2010 to start using coal for fuel in cement production at the two plants.
"Now we're building coal departments at Yugcement and Volyn-Cement using Stakhanov [a Soviet miner who used innovative working methods to greatly increase his personal productivity] ways of working. We plan to work using coal in 2010. I don't know whether it will be March or May, but we'll use coal. We'd like to start [using coal] in early 2010. Work is being done... Investment is approximately estimated at EUR 15 million for each plant," sales manager at Kiev-based Dyckerhoff Ukraine Ltd., Serhiy Dudziany, told Interfax-Ukraine.
