KIEV, June 30 - Actual year-on-year wages in Ukraine fell in May by 9.1%, while in May 2008 they grew 6%, the State Statistics Committee reported.
According to the committee, the average nominal wage in May 2009 was UAH 1,851, which is a 4.3% rise against May 2008 and 0.3% compared to April 2009.
The highest wages in May 2009 were registered in Kiev city (UAH 3,066), Kiev region (UAH 1,930) Donetsk region (UAH 2,035), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 1,890), and Luhansk region (UAH 1,814), the committee reported.
