KIEV, June 25 - The share of bad credits in the total amount of loans extended by Ukrainian banks grew by 0.6 percentage points in May, to 4.89% by June 1, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.
The amount of bad credits in monetary terms in May grew by 12.5%, or UAH 4.06 billion, to UAH 36.497 billion, the NBU said.
Since the beginning of the year, bad debts have doubled, by UAH 18.482 billion.
According to the central bank, the banks' overall registered charter capital in May expanded by 0.8%, or UAH 695 million, to UAH 89.99 billion.
