KIEV, June 2 – Yuzhny maritime merchant port (Odessa region) is intending to realize a development program worth $910 million by 2015, Yuriy Kruk, the head of the port, said.
The port will invest $310 million of its own funds. The port is planning to increase cargo turnover to 81.36 million tons a year, Kruk said while presenting the development plan.
The plan foresees the construction of five cargo moorings that will belong to the port, and an increase in the number of state moorings from 11 to 16 by 2015. In particular, this year it is planned to put in operation berth No. 9 with a length of 293 meters and a depth of 15 meters, where a complex for handling general cargos with a capacity of 1.2 million tons a year will be located.
