KIEV, April 24 – Ukraine will seek next week to secure massive purchases of Russian natural gas in the summer for use during the high-demand season, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Friday.

Tymoshenko is supposed to meet her Russian counterpart on April 29 in Moscow for talks as Ukraine apparently lacks about $5 billion in cash that is needed to make the purchases.
