KIEV, April 20 – Ukraine is capable of harvesting about 40 million tons of grain this year against 53.3 million in 2008, agriculture analysts say.
"We believe that the yield of grain this year will be about 40 million tons," said Yelyzaveta Malyshko, an analyst from UkrAgroConsult.
She forecasts the yield of wheat at 19.1 million tons, that of barley at 10.5 million tons, maize at 7.6 million tons, and remaining grain crops at 2.8 million tons.
