KIEV, April 6 – Ukraine's real gross domestic product fell by 8% in the fourth quarter of 2008 year-over-year, totaling 6.4% in the third quarter, the State Statistics Committee said on Monday.
Nominal GDP totaled UAH 275.78 billion in October-December 2008, which was 8.4% up on July-September 2008.
The GDP deflator index dropped to 127.8% in the fourth quarter from 129.8% a quarter earlier. The committee said that real GDP had grown by 6.3% in the first quarter of last year, and 6.2% in the second, with nominal GDP during these periods totaling UAH 187.72 billion and UAH 233.7 billion, while the deflator index was 126.6% and 131.9% respectively.
