KIEV, April 2 - Ukraine reduced coal production approximately 12.5% year-on-year in January-March to 17.718 million tons, the Coal Ministry told Interfax.

Coking coal production fell 19.7% to just over 5.88 million tons, and steam coal fell 8.5% to 11.83 million tons.

Coal production was still 7.7% above the target set by the Coal Ministry, including 20.4% above for coking coal and 2.3% for steam coal.
