BRUSSELS, March 30 – Metering stations to monitor the volume and quality of Russian gas are to be installed during the upgrade of the entrances to the Ukrainian gas transportation system, Vyachelsav Knyazhytsky, advisor on energy issues of the Ukrainian mission to the European Union, said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
He said that the decision to install the stations had been taken by the European Union.
"This was not Ukraine's decision, but the EU's: they decided to install metering stations at the entrance to the Ukrainian [gas transport] system, which would be linked to the Boyarsky International Meteorology Center – the most modern center in the world for measuring gas volumes and its quality," he said.
