KIEV, March 4 - Japan's Sumitomo Corporation is interested in participating in the construction of subways in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine's transport ministry said.
According to a report by the ministry, the issue was discussed at a meeting of the senior manager of the Ukrainian representative office of Sumitomo, Shiro Nishioka, the manager of the transport project group in Russia Onoe and the manager of the transport project and equipment department in Japan Koji Aso with Ukrainian transport and Communications Minister Yosyp Vinsky.
"We have two objects which we can discuss – the subways in Donetsk and in Dnipropetrovsk. Taking into account the fact that two cities are densely populated, a subway for them is a justified necessity," the press service said, citing Vinsky.
