Centrists say Communist Parliament attack was aimed at helping Russia
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, July 7 ??“ The Communist Party, which staged its worst ever attack on Parliament Thursday trying to derail World Trade Organization accession bills, may have been acting to benefit Russia, at least two centrist lawmakers said.

The party, which traditionally leans toward greater links with Russia, staged an attack against pro-government lawmakers, broke sound equipment and physically pushed the parliament speaker out of the session hall trying to stop the debate.

The Communist Party??™s three-day assault yielded little fruit as the government had managed to push through extremely important bills for Ukraine??™s accession to the WTO by the end of the year.
