KIEV, Jan. 14 – The Antimonopoly Committee has sent inquiries to a representative of Dmytro Firtash, the co-owner of Swiss RosUkrEnergo gas trader, and all 52 regional gas distribution companies in order to check the structure of their assets as a part of the checks of reports that RosUkrEnergo controls over 75% of gas sales in Ukraine.

"On Jan. 11, 2009, the committee paid attention to a publication in the Vedomosti newspaper and started checking the information announced in the newspaper on the purchase of controlling stakes in Ukrainian gas distribution companies by RosUkrEnergo, through which it may have received control over 75% of gas sales in Ukraine," the committee press service told Interfax-Ukraine.
