KIEV, Jan. 9 – About 40% of Ukrainian cement producers have suspended work due to a drastic decline in demand, Petro Lopatyev, executive director of the Ukrcement Association, told Interfax-Ukraine.

"Today about 40% of cement plants are at a standstill because there is no demand for their products. The remaining producers are working at minimum capacity – they have one furnace in operation," he said.
