KIEV, Jan. 9 - Ukraine has used some of its own natural gas to ensure steady transit of gas from Russia to the European Union over the past week, Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the national gas company, said Wednesday.

Naftogaz, in a statement, also urged Russian gas giant Gazprom to stop “ultimatums” and “accusations,” and to resume natural gas supplies to the EU via Ukrainian pipelines.
