KIEV, Dec. 23 - Ukraine's debt for gas will equal $3.2 billion on Jan. 1, 2009, Dmytro Firtash, co-owner of Switzerland-registered gas trader RosUkrEnergo, said in an interview with Ukraine's Inter television.
"If you look at the history of our relations [with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko], the first part is the gas history. Let's remember what happened. Tymoshenko said that everything would be fine. That there would be a comprehensible price, that everything would be transparent. And now Ukraine has a debt of $3.2 billion as of January 1, 2009. It has settled up on just $1 billion," Firtash said.
