KIEV, Dec. 15 – The International Monetary Fund has convinced the National Bank of Ukraine of the need to cancel the ban on the early withdrawal of deposits in the near future, said Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, the head of the IMF Mission to Ukraine.
"The NBU agreed that as soon as outflow of deposits from the banking system stops, and this has already happened: over the past two week money has been returned to the system – the NBU will cancel the moratorium on the early withdrawal of deposits, transfer to short-term financing of banks, and increase the interest rates on its passive transactions," she said in an interview with the Ekonomicheskiye Izvestia newspaper.
