KIEV, Dec. 2 - The Ukrainian government expects to receive an additional UAH1 billion per year by raising fees for the usage of subsurface resources and water in addition to royalties for natural gas used for the population's needs.
The cabinet submitted a bill on this issue to Parliament on Dec. 1.
The bill calls for raising royalties on gas production to UAH300 per 1,000 cubic meters from UAH200 (to UAH200 from UAH100 for production at a depth of more than 5 kilometers) and regularly indexing the royalties with a ratio of the average customs value of imported natural gas against the base price totaling UAH897.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.
