KIEV, Nov. 17 – The European Union is trying to expand the European Energy Community into Ukraine, Moldova and Turkey, in order to introduce the European Union energy trading rules in the countries, Helga Schmidt, head of the Political Desk of the General Secretariat of the European Union Council, wrote to participants of the Black Sea and Caspian region and second European Energy Security forum.
According to the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper, Schmidt said that this week the European Commission is to publish its Strategic Energy Review, in which it will pay special attention to security of energy supplies, focusing on integration of the most isolated European countries into European gas and energy systems.
