KIEV, Oct. 21 – Trade between Ukraine and Russia may top $40 billion in 2008, according to participants to economic forum entitled "Ukraine – Russia: cooperation in innovation and investment sectors" underway in Kiev on Oct. 21 through Oct. 23.
"The trade turnover between us grew over the past seven years from $9 billion. We closed 2007 at the level of $35 billion, and today we are going to the level of $40 billion. This can be compared with the figures of the trade of Ukraine with all countries of the European Union," Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin said.
