KIEV, Oct. 14 – The National Bank of Ukraine resolution on the restriction of early withdrawal of deposits was signed in favor of depositors, and will be in effect as long as it is necessary, according to NBU head Volodymyr Stelmakh.

"We're taking a responsible mission on ourselves to calm the public, and we're saying: we're banning banks from issuing deposits. This is in favor of those who made the deposits," he said after a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council in Kiev on Monday.
